DIY Livery at Tranwell Farm
Located in the heart of Northumberland, our DIY livery yard offers a friendly, well-maintained environment within a working third-generation family farm.
Our Facilities
All stables are 12ft x 12ft Monach & Lodden loose boxes, set within a large, airy barn. Each stable is fitted with rubber matting to provide comfort and support for your horse.

Liveries also have free use of both our indoor and outdoor arenas (when not in use for private hire), along with access to some off-road hacking directly from the farm.
Important Information
We operate as a strictly DIY livery yard. We do not provide additional services such as mucking out, turnout, exercising, or feeding. Owners are fully responsible for the daily care and management of their horses.
We are not a riding school and are therefore unable to offer riding lessons.
The yard is family-managed and forms part of our wider mixed farm enterprise at Tranwell Farm. There is no on-site yard manager; all management is handled directly by the family. The primary contact for all enquiries and arrangements is Daphne Jeans.
Arena Hire
Arena(s)
We have purpose built indoor and outdoor arenas
The indoor arena is around 21m x 37m with a viewing gallery to the side. It has a specialist waxed silica sand/fibre blend surface ensuring perfect support for horses in training.
The Outdoor Arena is around 41m x 60m with a sand/fibre/rubber blended surface providing the ideal surface for a mixture of disciplines.
Show jumps can be provided on request (POA).
Maximum of 4 horses per arena at any one time.
Indoor Arena - Private Hire
Hourly rate (private use) is £20.00 per hour for one horse, each additional horse and rider is a further £5.00 each. Available 9am to 8pm.
Lighting (if needed) runs on a coin operated system.
Outdoor Arena - Private Hire
Hourly rate (private use) is £20.00 per hour for one horse, each additional horse and rider is a further £5.00 each. 9am to 8pm.
Lighting (if needed) is subject to an additional £5 per hour.
Indoor Arena - Pony/Riding Club Rallies Hire
Hourly rate available 9am to 8pm POA.
Daily rate, which is strictly from 9am to 5pm (unless by prior arrangement), POA. Lighting (if needed) runs on a coin operated system.
Outdoor Arena - Pony/Riding Club Rallies Hire
Hourly rate per hour 9am to 8pm POA
Daily rate, which is strictly from 9am to 5pm (unless by prior arrangement),POA.
Lighting (if needed) is subject to an additional £5 per hour.
Indoor & Outdoor Combined Hire - Events
External events (clinics, shows, competitions) Daily rate, which is strictly from 9am to 5pm (unless by prior arrangement), POA.
Lighting for the indoor arena (if needed) runs on a coin operated system. Lighting for the outdoor arena (if needed) is subject to an additional £5 per hour.
Anyone hiring the Arena(s) is expected to be polite and courteous to everyone and leave all areas clean and tidy. Please pick up after your horses and empty the muck trugs into the muck heap.
